What initially drew us to LHSA was the invitation to be part of something new and the use of Discovery Education. My second grader excels in reading and math, and at LHSA he’s able to learn at a third-grade level—which he absolutely loves.
While there has been some back and forth as it’s the school’s first year, it’s clearly growing in a positive direction. My son is learning in leaps and bounds, and my daughter’s reading is improving without nearly as much resistance as last year.
Most importantly, my kids are excited to learn and genuinely happy to be at school. They speak positively about all of the staff, and for the first time, school is something they look forward to. I would absolutely encourage families to give it a try.
What initially appealed to us was the location and the diversity of student groupings, but what has truly stood out is the staff. There has never been a more capable or dedicated team. The time and effort they invest in individual students—while holding incredibly high expectations for success—is unprecedented.
We’ve had some rough moments during periods of transition, but the quality of education has remained excellent. Our children have been pushed harder academically than ever before, and that challenge has been so good for them. They’re genuinely exercising their academic muscles.
While our oldest has had mixed feelings, our youngest loves it. You can feel the sense of fun growing as the school builds a strong academic foundation and then expands into leadership development and project-based learning experiences. Tara Christensen is my son’s favorite teacher, and we would absolutely recommend this school.
We live in Lava, and the growth in enrollment has been a positive change. My child is enjoying school more this year, and it has been a great experience overall. I’ve been very impressed with the new changes and the positive direction of the school.
She has caught up after falling behind and is enjoying learning again. Mrs. Davids has been wonderful, as has the rest of the staff. We feel well supported and are very happy with the school.
We were struggling at our previous school and wanted a change. The small group learning and hands on approach of Lava appealed to us. Small group learning has been great for my kids. They have gone from being bored at school to being challenged and engaged. It’s such a great learning environment. The staff is fantastic and they really have the best interest of the kids in mind. It has been a great experience. My kindergartener has already stated reading! My other kids have been pushed to move up a grade level in multiple subjects. They love it! I feel like all of the staff has been amazing!
