Specials
Lava Hot Springs Academy provides a well-rounded academic program that includes weekly instruction in Art, Physical Education, Music, and Second Language. Each special is offered once per week for 40 minutes and is led by capable, caring specialists with expertise in their content areas.
Standards-Based Grading: No Guesswork for Parents
We use standards-based grading so parents clearly understand what students know and what they are still learning. Progress is reported by academic standards—not averaged scores or behavior—ensuring grades reflect true learning and mastery. Families always know where their child stands and what comes next.
Special Education
Lava Hot Springs Academy provides inclusive special education services aligned with Idaho guidelines and IDEA. Support is delivered primarily within the general education classroom through collaboration, push-in services, and individualized instruction based on each student’s IEP, ensuring access to grade-level learning and consistent support.
