Lava Hot Springs Academy provides a well-rounded academic program that includes weekly instruction in Art, Physical Education, Music, and Second Language. Each special is offered once per week for 40 minutes and is led by capable, caring specialists with expertise in their content areas.
The specials program supports the whole child by promoting creativity, physical wellness, cultural awareness, and social-emotional development. Art instruction encourages self-expression, creativity, and fine motor development. Physical Education promotes healthy habits, teamwork, and physical fitness. Music instruction builds rhythm, listening skills, and appreciation for the arts. Second Language instruction introduces students to new languages and cultures, strengthening cognitive flexibility and global awareness
Specials are intentionally aligned with LHSA’s instructional philosophy and school culture. Students engage in hands-on, developmentally appropriate learning experiences that complement core academic instruction while providing opportunities for exploration and enrichment.
By offering consistent access to high-quality specials instruction, LHSA ensures students receive a balanced educational experience that supports both academic growth and personal development
Parents consistently report that small group instruction has transformed their children’s learning experience—students move from boredom to challenge, gain confidence, and demonstrate measurable academic growth, including early literacy development and increased motivation. By prioritizing small group instruction, LHSA creates a personalized, supportive learning environment where every student is known well and academic growth is intentional, visible, and sustained.
